Platform 1: Television

Platform 2: Mobile

Purpose: To Motivate

Audience: Singeltons

Project: Yes Man- A motivational programme showing peoples real life experiences of the Yes man style view on life, evidence of people living the ‘good life’ positive attitudes and making the best of bad situations.

Short video clips sent as video messages daily to keep people on the motivational path with sucess stories from around the globe.

The First 7 Secconds

Some one will sign up for the phone videos by texting a number after being instucted online advatorial or through the tv show. They will begin by reciving a short video about the program and the people who have benifited from it. the audience is mobile, on the bus, at work , lining up in starbucks!

its when they get a spare 30 secconds, at lunch whilst going to the loo, on a cigerette break etc…

seven secconds after watching the film i would like the audience to be clicking through o a website for more info and comercial options such as buying books or full lenght dvd’s. I think they are really going back into work with a renewed attitude for a while which can be boosted the next day and the next!

7 minuets:

the audience will now have moved on to another task or be looking furthure into it, however the videos will still have relevance to them as they continue in work whihc will prompt them to think about the tv show and possibly watch the video again for anything they may have missed the first time.

7 Days Later…

Now they will be able to see a tv show, maybe the first one after getting the SMS maybe they have been waiting for the next instalment since last week, either way they are expecting the show they are engaged with tthe idea all week and are prepared for the show and reminded daily through the sms’s.

    Stone Roses

A documentary showcasing the British music scene through the eyes of one character. The demands of working in the media, the joys of family life and working in radio.

This work is targeted at a music savvy audience who like to be on the pulse whilst still understanding the history of the passion (music) With large numbers of the population flocking year on year to music events and blogging, following and making decisions with there disposable income which artists to support there is clearly a market for this idea. Project I am aiming to make a one off 1hr film for BBC 2.

My ideas outlined can be transferred to a different city about different characters over time for future productions.

The audience ranges from the young music savvy crowd of 16 year olds, who are discovering new music and tribes all the time whilst engaging with the old in order to give there musical opinions strength to the 60 year olds who were there when the music was being made and are watching to be reminded of the good days of music.

    Funding

Great News! SBS Utopia wants to commission my documentary project!
Got some fantastic news today, it looks like SBS utopia really like my idea and are going to fund the project, unfortunately they can only put up 50% of the money as they are struggling in this recession! So it looks like I’m going to have to get the rest of the funding elsewhere.

In very broad terms, how much will it cost to make the film?
Money is being saved as I’m a self shooter. The main costs will be in getting the archive footage from a range of sources and the editing. The initial signs are that the budget will be £30 000 and with £15 000 coming from SBS I will need to find a further £15 000 from other sources.

What is your strategy for finding the rest of the money?
I will be looking into getting another broadcaster on board and hoping for £5000 from them. Despite the local feel of the subject it also has broader appeal from music lovers globally particularly with the oasis link. I would look at selling to an American broadcaster and perhaps an Australian as well as these countries has big fans of the British indie music scene.

Where will you go to find it?
I will attempt to get hold of some development funds from the EU which will hopefully pay for the pre production. £5000 from development funds will ensure the £15000 from the SBS will go solely on production.

    Pitching
I intend to pitch my idea to funders such as Sundance and would hope to get around £5000 more from these sources which can be put into the post production budget.
